Cognitive biases
Cognitive biases are systematic patterns of deviation from norm or rationality in judgment, and are often studied in psychology and behavioral economics. (wikipedia definition)

They are used in Heuristic method to identify common erros. So think about them as tool.

Cognitive biases are segmented into 4 categories:

  • Too much information, brain needs to select what information is going to be remembered, so there is a finite list and the information are sorted top-down (repetition is an important factor, as well as relation between information)
  • Not enough meaning: Lack of meaning is confusing
  • Need to act fast: this could also refers to a certain pressure in decision making.
  • What should we remember? trade-offs, selection, skimming.
