UX Research
UX Research cover all process and methodology to get user behaviors, needs, and motivations in order to design products and services that provide value.

UX Research helps design teams to validate and confirm assumptions from data analysis.

A Research plan is commonly sctructured on the following phases:

  • Discovery: Observation is key in this first phase. This phase aims to get and collect feeling, behaviours, believes, needs and expectation. Discovery phase is acting on both following fields:
    • Qualitative: usually from User Interviews on a small selected segment;
    • Quantitative: analysing a large amount of data from interviews, surveys and/or trackings;
  • Exploration: Heuristic analysis is a well known practice and can easily identify frictions.

In this phase, a User Flow (as well as User Journey) tend to describe how a User is navigating throught the application/screens/pages. We can also consider to use Ideation process and find alternative options during the flow.

  • Testing: User testing help to determine learnability and efficience of Design. A Prototype (paper made and online) is used to measure time, errors, success rating, on doing a variety of tasks. Testing is often managed using A/B test & MultiVariate Testing (MVT).

  • Listening/Learning: Ultimately, (but still think iterative), surveys
